Rondi Walker Hurlbut owns Rondi Designs, an interior design
business and consulting service. Rondi grew up taking art classes at the Richmond Art Center; she began to seriously pursue
her career in design during her teen years, living for six weeks at the Mendocino Art Center, taking courses in Color and
Design with Dorr Bothwell. Rondi graduated with honors in 1971, with a bachelor's degree in Design from UCLA. She spent
the fall of that year at the McNutt Tweed Factory in Donegal, Ireland, designing silk screen print patterns and products for
hand-woven tweed. When Rondi returned to the Bay Area, she managed a showroom at The Icehouse in San Francisco, and worked
as a graphic designer for the U.S. Forest Service before joining her mother's interior design business, The Decorator's Studio,
in 1973. Concurrently, Rondi taught interior design classes as a part-time instructor at Contra Costa College. When Rondi's
mother retired in 1991, Rondi started her own freelance interior design service. Rondi is a member of IFDA, International
Furnishings and Design Association, and CCIDC, California Council for Interior Design Certification. Rondi is the head of
our design/staging team.
